The story so far
Whilst managing a small youth refuge, our founder Lisa Glen witnessed time and time again, children and young people who had experienced serious neglect and abuse being placed in refuges. Without proper care, they would often end up homeless, get involved in crime, or be at further risk of abuse and neglect.
So, Lisa founded Premier Youthworks. Working with the Newcastle Local Government authorities, a single fee service home was established with a team of experienced case workers to support children and young people 24 hours a day.
With the success and demands of the service, the number and quality of services grew. Today, Premier Youthworks cares for approximately 90 children and employs over 300 highly experienced and talented professionals throughout NSW and the ACT.
Providing high quality Therapeutic Residential Care, the Premier Youthworks team has a deep understanding of the complex needs, arising from childhood abuse and neglect, and deliver trauma informed services. It’s their care, compassion and dedication that is contributing to positive outcomes for the young people in which we support.
